About Metabolic Resilience

The Metabolic Resilience Story

I went on testosterone replacement therapy.

When I came off it, I realized something important.

It wasn't solving the problem.

Four decades at the intersection of metabolism and health

I've been working in healthcare for more than 41 years — as a board-certified Doctor of Chiropractic, an A.D.A.P.T. Functional Medicine Program graduate, a Functional Medicine University graduate, a Certified Oxygen Advantage Breathwork Coach, and a Certified Foundation Training Coach.

The intersection of those disciplines — metabolic medicine, respiratory physiology, and circadian biology — is where conventional functional medicine has the largest gap. It's where this work operates.

Over time, my clinical focus narrowed to a specific problem: the impact of lifestyle and stress on metabolic and circadian health, particularly in men over 45 who are doing the right things and getting diminishing returns.

Rebuilding metabolism without pharmaceutical support

After coming off TRT, I had to learn how to restore my own metabolism without pharmaceutical support. I documented the entire process with labs. Here's what that restoration actually looked like.

Testosterone Trajectory

DateTotal TestosteroneFree Testosterone
October 2022377 ng/dL50.3 pg/mL
June 2023519 ng/dL83.8 pg/mL
August 2025662 ng/dL103 pg/mL
December 2025718 ng/dL115 pg/mL

No TRT. No testosterone supplements. A Total T of 718 within three days of turning 68 — a number considered robust even for a man decades younger — restored through signal restoration alone.

Body CompositionNovember 2024 → August 2025

  • Body fat18.5% → 15.1%
  • Lean mass+5.8 lbs
  • Visceral fat-30%
  • Scale weightessentially unchanged

Metabolic MarkersDecember 2025

  • Fasting Insulin3.6
  • HOMA-IR0.738
  • hsCRP0.41

Insulin sensitivity, metabolic flexibility, and inflammation — all in optimal range.

I'm not sharing this to impress. I'm sharing it because the story I'm about to tell only has weight if you can see that it actually works.

What I Discovered

The deeper question conventional medicine rarely asks

The conventional model is very good at managing symptoms. But it rarely asks the deeper question:

What biological signals regulate metabolism in the first place?

If metabolism is breaking down, something must be disrupting the system that controls it. That question led me down a different path — into the research on circadian biology, mitochondrial function, and environmental health.

A pattern emerged.

Human metabolism evolved to run on specific biological signals: morning sunlight, darkness at night, consistent sleep timing, seasonal rhythms, natural movement, and daily and seasonal eating patterns. These signals regulate insulin sensitivity, hormone production, inflammation, and cellular energy.

The relationship between circadian disruption and metabolic dysregulation is one of the more replicated findings in the chronobiology literature — with documented implications for insulin sensitivity, cortisol rhythm, and testosterone pulsatility that conventional metabolic medicine largely ignores. (Scheer et al., 2009; Leproult & Van Cauter, 2011; Buxton et al., 2012)

But here's the part most people miss — including those who've already optimized their sleep, fixed their diet, and tracked their metrics.

It's not enough to have each signal present. The signals have to arrive in the right sequence and at the right biological timing to coordinate the downstream hormonal cascade.

Improving each element independently — better sleep hygiene, morning sunlight, dietary changes — produces incremental improvement. Modern life doesn't just remove individual signals. It breaks the coordination between them.

I call the result Metabolic Collapse: the progressive breakdown of metabolic regulation that shows up in labs and in the mirror as resistant weight gain, declining hormones, rising inflammation, disrupted sleep, and fatigue that sleep doesn't fix.

The Method

When the timing architecture is restored, the body begins correcting itself

What became clear was this: midlife metabolic decline isn't usually a failure of the body. It's a failure of the biological signals that regulate metabolism — and specifically, the failure of those signals to arrive in the right sequence and timing.

When the timing architecture is restored, the body often begins correcting itself.

My own labs document this. So does the work I've done with midlife professionals over the past several years — including many who had already worked with conventional medicine, functional medicine practitioners, and testosterone clinics without resolving the underlying issue.

That insight became the Metabolic Resilience Method — a coaching protocol built on the R.E.S.E.T. framework: Rhythm, Environment, Sleep, Energy, and Timing. Five domains, installed in the order your biology requires.

A concrete reference point: a 54-year-old executive who came to us post-TRT clinic — Total T of 398, fasting insulin of 12.4 — completed the 90-day protocol with Total T of 591 and fasting insulin of 4.1. No pharmaceutical support. No additional hours added to his week.

About This Program

Metabolic Resilience is a coaching program.

It is not medical care, and no doctor-patient relationship is established. Decisions about medical intervention — including any prescription medication — are between you and your physician.

Who This Isn't For

This isn't a fit for people looking for a quick diet plan, unwilling to make lifestyle changes, or wanting symptom management instead of root-cause work. The Metabolic Resilience approach requires engagement and commitment.

If that describes you, there are other programs better suited to where you are right now. If it doesn't — if you're done managing symptoms and ready to restore the underlying system — the right place to start is the Metabolic Resilience Score.

My mission is straightforward

To help people restore the biological signals their bodies evolved to depend on — so metabolism, energy, and resilience can return.

The protocol is built on the same biological architecture that's always been running in the background. We stop suppressing it, restore the sequence it requires, and let the system do what it was designed to do.

Not because we forced the body into compliance.

Because we gave it back what it was always designed to run on.

Find out where your system stands

The Metabolic Resilience Score evaluates the five biological systems that regulate metabolism — Circadian Rhythm, Light Environment, Sleep Quality, Metabolic Flexibility, and Inflammation Signals — and identifies which one is most disrupted in your specific case.

It takes a few minutes. Your results are emailed instantly. There is nothing to buy.
